CRAP Design: Part 4 - Repetition

This is the fourth part of the series ‘CRAP Design Series‘ where we will look into the ‘Repetition Design Principle’. The principle states that we should repeat design elements through out the piece (the webpage or the document). The elements that are repeated may be color, shape, texture or style.

Narration: First person vs Third person

Since the very beginning of human civilization, Story Telling has been an integral part of it. And by Story Telling, I mean here Narration or in a broader sense Literature. Be it Ancient Sloka’s of Vedas, Keats Poetry, Shakespeare’s Plays, or be it the epics, legends, myths, ballads, folktales or today’s fiction/non fictions or even journalism, they are all narration on some form or other. This particular series of incidents happened by January end, and here is a summary of the things in a chronological order.

Short version

A person copied a blog post from Splat and used it as his own site without any attribution. When I asked the person to remove the material, I got no response, and hence I intimated Google Adsense on the issue. They were not able to wrestle the content down without a DMCA report. It was a bit of inconvenience for me to file a DMCA and hence I contacted the web-host of that site and was successful in removing the material.
