New Year - New Look
January 1st, 2007 — Vyoma
Happy new year to all!
As the clock strikes 12 in each time zone, people celebrate on stepping into the new year - 2007. People look back on the year that has passed recollecting few moments that were memorable.
To that tradition, Splat has gained a new look. And in retrospect, quite a few things have happened.
- Splat made a long journey and finally got settled under WiseTome.com and got self hosted. See my earlier post for more info.
- A handful of authors joined Splat. Check the author page.
- And last but not least, by the end of the year, Splat had a theme change:

Few other bloggers might know that I had been working on quite a different theme for the wordpress engine to be used for Splat. It had all the bubble-look of Web 2.0. It had its share of inconsistencies and cross-browser nightmares. By the end of it, I redid the design to the present one, based on the template ‘Flickred’ by Small Potato. It was a heavy rework in terms of color themes and also minor changes in the layout. (Minor changes will be done in the future when inconsistencies are found).
This coming year, 2007, I and the other authors of Splat would strive to give more informative ’splat’ on various topics.

Thanks Sankar Anand. I just hope it does not get to look too Web 2.0 ’cause I am afraid the design trends would soon fade away.
That was one of the major reason, I scratched out the rounded corners. The present theme has a basic theme that has been for quite some time, and it seems it would remain for quite a while.
