This is the the third post in the CRAP Design series. In the last post we looked at the Proximity principle. In this post, we will look at the ‘A’ in the CRAP - the Alignment Principle.
The Alignment design principle states that no element in a design/layout must be placed arbitrarily. All the elements should be aligned with one of the elements in a page. This principle applies to both the actual placement of each element, and also the property of the elements like justification in terms of text or paragraph.
Imagine a disc which can store 5 times the data, provide superior audio and video quality and provide better random access functionalities compared to a DVD (Digital Video Disc). Yes!! The next generations of optical disc formats are here. They are Blu Ray and HD DVD. In this post I am highlighting the features of the Blu Ray. In the coming posts, I will discuss about HD DVD and the format war which is currently in progress between them.
Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD) is the name of a next-generation optical disc format. The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc.

Here is a clipart set inspired by the decals that we find adorned on bikes and cars - the ones that depict the blaze of fire or paranormal fire.

This is the second part in the CRAP Design series. In the last post we looked at the four different principles to be used while designing a document or web page. In this post, we will look at one of them in depth.

Proximity in terms of design principles is about the relationship different elements get when they are placed together. It also states that if the groups of elements are separated then those elements are dissimilar. We will look at some examples and understand as to how we may apply it to make the documents and web pages better organized as well as look better than an average page.

I was looking at some trends in search and found that lot of people are looking out for clip art of splats. I fiddled around with Inkscape, and I got this. I made variations of them in terms of basic colors and they come in three sizes.
