Guest Writer!

A few days back I was in Chennai to attend the marriage of my former Module Leader at my previous employer. The marriage, however, was just an excuse to be in Chennai with my friends and other well wishers. And I thought, what better way to spend some quality time with those special friends in the wonderful setting of The Wang’s Kitchen, a restaurant that specializes in mouth watering Chinese delicacies. In fact, the plan to be there was formed long before I set my foot on the Tamil land.

Food has been always been my foible and that too Chinese food. If I were the heir apparent to all the richness in the world and if ever a time comes wherein I will have to barter the richness for some delectable Chicken Clear Soup, a plate of spicy Chicken Lollipop and a bowl of tangy red Schezuan Noodles, I would most probably go with the transaction with utmost happiness and/or without the slightest hint of hesitation. Knowing very well my weakness and to capitalize on it fully was my dear ‘brother in arm’ Mahesh Bhat- Bhatta for short, and the protagonist of this website.

As I lay splurging on “MY food” Bhatta dropped in a proposal. Now please, don’t hold on to your breath! Bhatta did NOT ask for my wealth. I repeat, Bhatta did NOT ask for my wealth! It is plain simple- you know. Bhatta knew that I’m as pauper as he was or for that matter as cash depleted as would be any other Software Engineer (I hate calling myself this) would be. But he did ask me to write some articles, as a guest writer, in his online magazine-Splat!

In the moment of ecstasy, where each of my taste buds were dancing to the tune created by the “beautiful” food, I gave an instant nod of approval to Bhatta’s proposal. Then and there was the inking of a contract between two brothers, although the inking was done with invisible ink on a non existent paper. At the end, as a passing comment, Bhatta sounded a disclaimer. He said that he would be in no position to pay me for the articles that I post, at least initially. At this, there were chuckles all around. All that I could think of after that disclaimer was, “Thanks Bhatta, you can pay me later, whenever you turn out to be the next hot shot “media mogul”.

All the best Bro!

PS: Without a moment too late, let me thank my former ML for having facilitated the meeting between friends and for having helped in the inking of the above transaction.

Sure, sure. That is next on the to-do list. I have been working on the Splat theme. When I activate it, I will add some pages on Authors at Splat.
