Webcomics
April 28th, 2006 — VyomaI had dwelled on this topic before. (See the Web Comic post on my other antiquated blog, Pondering’s of Mahesh Bhat). I seem to be quite obsessed with the topic of Webcomic, and I envision similar returns on the topic in the future.
I will be looking at few of the online comic here that are my favourites, and I give regular attendance at to catch the updates.
The first one is, Inverloch.
Seraph Inn
The story of this web comic is about a young da’kor (a wolf like race) named Acheron. He encounters an elf and desides to help her in finding another elf by the name Kayndar. The seemingly innocent mission leads to many indepth enocunters, and Acheron makes enemies and friends as he goes on a search. The comic itself is drawn with great detail. About three to four pages are draw and updated every week. The comic has a hint of anime, but is not anime style.
The next one on the list is the Talismen series.
Return of Exile

This is a fantasy adventure series. It has actually two story arcs, ‘The Return of the Exile’ and ‘The Knightmare Kife’. The Return Of Exile starts when Marine Lance Corporal Ollie Steele is executed by terrorists and finds himself suddenly in the Plane of Imaginings. The drawing style can be definetly called the ‘American Comic book style’. The updates are sparser than that of Inverloch.
And finally, ‘last but not least’, The Dream Land Chronicles. I came across this very recently, and have been very exited about this one. My exitment is mathced by this larger banner I have put here:
The Dream Land Chronicles
I feel that the summarization I do on the story of this comic would not do justice, and thus, here is the direct quote from its author:
“Ever since he could remember, Alexander was a dreamer. Every night when he would go to sleep he would enter a world called Dreamland. Nightly he would have adventures with his very best friends, Kiwi the fairy, Paddington Rumblebottom the rock boy, and Nastajia the princess of elves. Together they would fly on winged horses, swim with mermaids, battle nightmare pirates, and chase after one eyed giants.
“On his 12th birthday, while in Dreamland Alexander uncovers a lost tomb. Inside he finds a sword, and guarding it…a dragon. Before the dragon can kill him, Alexander wakes up…never to dream again.
“Now…eight years later, Alexander finds a pendant that lets him travels back to the place of his childhood dreams. Rediscovering this magical world for the first time since his youth he meets his childhood friends who are also now grown up.”
The amazing part about this comic is that all the art is actually 3d renders. The artist goes about the process of storyboarding, modelling, posing and rendering to give the pages of the comic. The update is also regular - every weekday.
So go ahead and read them all. There is always a kid with in us who likes to read comics.
