I had been told many times by many people that I need to get a different forum skin for the RPG, Chaos And Order. (Well, if you click now, you will be looking at the forum with the new skin). The same thought had occured to me and my co-admin of the site, but had never got a chance to do it.

Thus, I set out to create on for it. A simple skin was required, that contained mimimum distraction, so that people could concentrate on the writing part. But it still had to look like it had a theme. To accomplish this, the aim was to have a skin with minimum or no images. Even if it did have, it would be for the logos and buttons and indicators.

With that guideline as a base, it came down to simple choosing of colors for the skinning, as the remaining part would be to plug the color-codes into the CSS of the forum. To maintain simple-look, most part of it would have to be white, and all written text would be black. To have some solid forms, I chose just two more colors, pastel blue and pastel brown.

The pallate came to this:

All the CSS color-codes were changed to one of these colors. Most of the area was made white or the pastel blue. The borders were made pastel brown. All the text were black. Anything that remained to be done, was all left to the design of the logo and the buttons.

I did have some spare time, and I designed the logo. The constraint was to use only the colors that were chosen above. Here is the result:

Now, I just need to find some time to make some themed buttons for the rest of the forum.
