Content Management Systems

Synopsis
This is an article to understand the basics of Content Management System (CMS). It would briefly look into the origins and advent of CMS. It would also look into few of the variations and the technology involved in the design of CMS. This article would be focusing on the CMS from the perspective as a website, but it must be noted that similar technology and design principles go into a CMS for a in-house or intranet based CMS for any organization.

Introduction
Content Management System (CMS) is just that - what the words mean. If an attempt has to be made to define or describe it, it can be made by saying that it is a system to gather, store, organize, present and make changes to information or content. The Internet is filled with information and content, and in the early days, they were just put there with out much thought on how one could reach it when there would be just too many of them. This did give market to many Search Engine based companies, but every webmasters' aim was to present the content on his or her website in a logical and convenient manner. This called for the role of CMS. It came to be used not just by the webmasters of the websites hosted on the internet, but also the information managers of organizations that generated a lot of data that had to be retrieved and presented to its employees.

A Simple Valid HTML Page

This article would describe the coding or marking up of a simple but valid HTML page. It does not cover all the HTML tags and for such a requirement, the HTML specifications at the W3C may be referred.

Introduction
HTML is Hyper Text Markup Language. It was designed for creation of web pages that would be served over the internet to the browsers of the visitors of websites. The HTML is used to markup the content with headings, emphasis, underlines, paragraphs and other things. The complete specification of the HTML is maintained by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Here we will try to create a simple web page that would have a heading, about two paragraphs, with some of the text with in it underlined and some emphasized. By following this write up, one should be in a position to read and understand the specifications provided by the W3C and proceed to build more complex web pages and websites.

Photography

Synopsis
Photography as such is a very vast topic to cover in a few pages. So this first write up will be a very generic one and further particular details will be dealt with later one at a time.

Photography, the word comprises of two parts; Photo (means light) and graphics (means to write or to draw). So Photography is to write or draw with light. By dictionary definition it means - the process of producing images of objects on photosensitive surfaces. But I can define it in many other ways. Photography is a form of art, it is a way to capture memories, it is a medium for data storage, it is a form of expression - a medium to propagate one's thought.

World Building

Synopsis

In most of the cases, the results of the efforts of World Building is very apparent, rather than the World itself. We all have seen the splendor of the story told in the Lord of the Ring series. We have been awed by the futuristic pictures detailed of the Star Wars movies and novels. These works were based on Worlds that were built by the process of World Building.

This article ventures on summarizing the various issues that go into building of such World. This statement does come with a disclaimer that it is not the first venture. World Building has been recognized as concept, arguably as an art-form, and many works exists on the process. This article attempts to have an exhaustive understanding of the basics and origin of World Building. This article would also touch up on application and try to categorize the Worlds built based on the approach used. This article is not a how-to-build set of instructions as that would be a series of paper in itself.

Introduction

World Building is a loose concept that would be difficult to be defined to encompass all its meaning. The definition of World Building may be made as follows: World Building is the design of a consistent and logical structure that describes the existence of everything within it. As said, it does not describe the process or act of World Building wholly but does put the underlying principle into perspective. World Building is the proof given to the questions put by the human mind when receiving any form of literary or artworks.
